Simplified customer document management with CLC-PADD® Mail+

ZF is a globally active technology group and supplies systems for the mobility of passenger cars, commercial vehicles and industrial technology. The company has long relied on the reliable use of SAP as its main system.

It goes without saying that important technical requirements come into play when contract-relevant documents have to be exchanged with the customer. Because whenever different employees from

different company divisions work on a shared document, traceability must be ensured at all times. CLC xinteg successfully implemented the CUDO project (CUstomer DOcuments) together with ZF Friedrichshafen AG based on the requirement to also enable process participants not working in SAP to access the document management integrated in SAP.

The primary project objective was to evaluate or revise customer documents that had already been agreed - this was to be possible without SAP access. The solution ended up being interactive PDF documents that are generated by the SAP system and can be exchanged by email. The final result is imported back into SAP and merged there.

Goals & requirements

Cross-location, mutual coordination of documents, even without SAP access

Possibility of evaluating individual points or chapters within the document to be evaluated

Enabling a consolidation of ratings from individual raters

Possibility of tracking appointments for evaluations with included reminder function

Generation of a coordinated, single document for process completion

Benefits & advantages

Simplified evaluation via a PDF form

SAP access is not mandatory for the evaluators involved in the document

Communication can take place independently of the SAP system via e-mail

"Thank you once again for your prompt response. As a customer, I really feel that I am in good hands with CLC xinteg - no matter which employee, I am always helped!"

Roberto Martinez, Project Manager CUDO
